We were just invited by our friend Grant Garland to open for the Newfound Road concert happening in Orland, CA on March 21st! We are looking forward to sharing a few songs before Newfound Road performs and then enjoying the concert. If you are interested in obtaining tickets, contact us at thewintons@juno.com and we'll get you information about attending.
Also, the first official review of our CD, "This World is Not My Home," is just in from regular California Bluegrass Association reviewer Joe Ross:
"As soon as it started to spin, I realized that this was not simply another family band picking around their front porch. The CD exudes a great deal of song variety, individual talent, and group dynamics. While the CD emphasizes the masculine trio of the family (Randy, Cody, Jesse), I note that the credits also include Lisa for some vocals. Perhaps she should've been included in some of the album photos too? I was very impressed with this Redding-based group that clearly has some eclectic tastes from bluegrass to folk, with a solid contribution of Gospel songs. A couple numbers demonstrate the boys' songwriting capabilities which will only mature and get better with time. The Wintons' music simply emphasizes their familial bond, brotherhood, enjoyment of music, enthusiasm, and optimism. "This World is Not My Home” album tells me that The Wintons not only have a strong conviction to their crowd-pleasing music, but that God has provided them with a path forward and some guided direction that encourages them to fully share their musical ministry far and wide."
Thank you, Joe, for your kind words. There were some reasons why I wasn't pictured with the guys, but thanks for noticing! :o) We look forward to hopefully seeing some of you at our upcoming CD release concert happening Saturday, March 7th.
Blessings!
