Dear Friends,
We have had SO much going on this summer, this is the first chance I've had to get a real update out to you! Here are some photos taken by various friends to give you a little glimpse of what we've been up to...

Shasta, CA, at Sunrise Baptist Church in Fair Oaks, CA, and play the Gospel Set at the Good Old-Fashioned Bluegrass Festival in Hollister, CA. The best part of every event we've played at and the thing we're looking forward to most at our upcoming concerts are all the wonderful opportunities we've had to meet people everywhere. We've re-connected with friends we hadn't seen it 15-20 years, and made new friends all over the state. What a blessing and privilege to talk to each and every one of you!
Fall is in the air here in Redding, and though the daytime temperatures are still near or over 100 degrees, we're starting to enjoy those cool early mornings, a sure sign of the approaching change of seasons. We have many events to look forward to. Here are a few coming up in the next few weeks:
Crossroads Community Church of Yuba City, CA is hosting a free Bluegrass & BBQ event on Saturday, August 22nd. There will be a free lunch and music all day, from 9am - 5pm. We'll be playing during the 1:15 - 2:15pm music session.
The Vision Forum Father/Son Retreat is taking place on August 28 - 31st at the Crooked Creek Ranch in Winter Park, Colorado. Randy and the boys are really looking forward to not only playing, but having the privilege of attending this event for the first time.
We'll be playing during one of the breaks at the Weaverville Fiddle Contest on September 19th. This is the third time the boys have competed in this event, and it is always a lot of fun to meet so many other bluegrass and old-time fiddle musicians.
One of the events we are really excited about this fall is the wonderful opportunity we've been given to play worship music for the Homeschool Family Camp at Jenness Park Christian Camp in Cold Springs, CA. This excellent camp is featuring as speaker pastor Steve Walker of Central Valley Presbyterian Church, and has a medieval theme that is focusing on The Kingdom of God. The camp will be held September 24th - 27th and includes the following fun activities: renaissance painting, wood crafts, creating a coat of arms, calligraphy, long sword lessons, archery tournament, jousting, husband and wife seminar and more. Check out their site for more details and join us as we enjoy some special family time at a great camp. If fall is just too near and you can't make it this time for the fall camp, be sure and plan to attend the Spring Homeschool Family Camp when Answers in Genesis's Dr. Tommy Mitchell will be speaking and Creation Science (a focus on dinosaurs and Noah's Ark) will be the theme. We'll be there in the spring, also.
We hope to see you at one of these fine events in the next few months. Please drop us a line and let us know you're reading, listening to our music, or planning to attend an event. Also, we have a direct link to our Facebook page on the left-hand side of our blog. Be sure to become a 'fan' (we like to call you our friends :o) ) to keep up with the latest information about where we'll be playing.
Sincerely,
Lisa for the Wintons
