Hello Friends,
We are finally caught up. (Mostly, but not quite....mom. :o) ) During our two-week rest period in August, we did all of the over-looked chores and duties that were looming over us for so long due to our busy schedule. Now it's back to travelling and concerts, homeschooling high school, music practice, household duties and working alongside our Dad in the family business; an oddity to some but normal life for us.
Last weekend we had the wonderful opportunity to lead the worship in beautiful Cold Springs, CA, at Jenness Park's annual Christian Homeschool Camp, where we were encouraged by wonderful sermons. The camp's theme was a Medieval time period focusing on the "Upside- Down Kingdom," meaning that we as Christians are to be radically different from the world. We were greatly encouraged by the sermons given by Pastor Steve Walker from Central Valley Presbyterian Church in Ceres, CA.

Tomorrow marks the day that we perform at Hat Creek Baptist, which is in Hat Creek, CA, a small town east of Redding. We will begin at 10:30 a.m. and play during their morning worship service. This is their "Round-Up Sunday," and bluegrass music fits with their theme. We are really looking forward to this and hope to see some of y'all there.
On the 23rd and 24th of the month we will be both performing and competing at the Western Open fiddle and picking competition, which will mark our third year attending this fine event. We played an entertainment slot last year and had a lot of fun doing that, and have been asked to do it again this year.
We are right now working on setting up a spring concert tour of the U.S. Please contact us if you are interested in having us come and play for you. We hope to be setting out around the end of March or early April.
Also, some more exciting news for our family. Through November and December we will be in the recording studio producing our second album, hopefully with a large portion of original songs. We hope this second offering will be as well-received as our first CD and will expand our musical horizons.
As we anticipate enjoying the approaching holidays with our family, we are going to take November and December off from performing music to prepare for recording, and to rest and recuperate. We hope that the fall will bring many great things for you and your families, including special memories and growth in the Word of God, as we watch and see His creation change, moving into a season of dormancy followed by winter, and the anticipation of the new life that comes with spring.
In Christ,
Jesse
